licensed professional counselor, speaker and author

Hey, I’m Cassie Carrigan.

I’m wife to an extroverted engineer and a mother to 3 children here on earth—Adleigh, Ryker and Finlee—and 2 children in heaven—Radiance and Caleb. I’m a licensed professional counselor, speaker, and author. My desire is to see all people heal from the wounds of life and step into a freedom that allows us to know who we are, be who we were meant to be, and live a fulfilling life. My journey of child loss and grief gives me eyes for the eternal and allows me to walk alongside others who are hurting.

Whether it’s through counseling, teaching or writing, I love empowering women to believe what is true, let go of what is false, open their hearts to healing and truly regain the joy of living a life of freedom.

After receiving my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, I went to John Brown University where I received a masters in youth and family ministries. I moved to Austin to help plant a church with dear friends and taught topical Bible classes at a private Christian high school. I branched out and even taught 6th grade for a year, which was an exciting and challenging change from teaching at the high school level.

Through my teaching experience, my desire for counseling began to spark. I loved talking to my students about the many joys and difficulties of life. In 2015, I received my master’s in counseling and practiced up until May 2021 when I stepped away to spend more time with my children. I love being a therapist and hope to return to the profession in the future. I am always humbled and honored by the opportunity to walk alongside people in their journeys.

Along with the full-time job of motherhood, I’ve spent my time away from counseling serving my son Caleb’s hospital (Children’s Hospital Colorado). I love advocating for other children and families impacted by sickness and disease, as well as sharing our story with doctors and nurses from all over the country.
